Product Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

A wetting and dispersing agent designed for solvent-based automotive coatings, industrial coatings, and concentrated pigment dispersions. Particularly well-suited for stabilizing ultrafine carbon black and organic pigments, it significantly reduces the viscosity of grinding media and effectively enhances color development performance.

PRODUCT DATA

Chemical Composition: Solution of graft copolymer with pigment-affine groups
The data provided on this sheet represents typical values and not product specifications.

Acid Value (mgKOH/g):2-12
Density (g/cm³ at 23℃):0.94-1.02
Viscosity (cps at 25℃):25-100
Non-volatile content (%):45
Solvent:n-Butyl Acetate

STORAGE and TRANSPORT

Storage at temperatures below 15℃ may result in layering or crystallization; heat to 40℃ and thoroughly mix. Storage beyond 12 months is not recommended.

SPECIAL NOTES

Surface treatments of certain organic pigments may adversely affect the effectiveness of this wetting and dispersing agent. In such cases, consider using untreated pigments of the same type.

APPLICATION GUIDELINES

Industrial Coatings

Features and Advantages:
The additive employs steric hindrance to facilitate pigment deflocculation and maintain stability. ANJEKA—6173 imparts the same charge to pigment particles, generating repulsion and steric hindrance that effectively prevent potential flocculation. This enhances the coating's gloss, color intensity, transparency, and coverage, while also reducing grinding viscosity.

RECOMMENDED LEVELS

Additive levels (as purchased) based on pigment:

Titanium Dioxide:5%—6%
Inorganic Pigments:10%—15%
Organic Pigments:20%—80%
Carbon Black:30%—120%

The above data are empirical levels; optimal levels should be determined through a series of experiments.

PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS
For optimal performance, add the additive to the grinding media before introducing pigments. Pre-mix the resin and solvent components of the grinding media, then slowly add the additive under constant stirring. Do not add pigments until the additive is uniformly mixed.
