Test Procedures
  1. Blank Epoxy White Paint Test (100 mL Graduated Cylinder):Initial scale reading,Foam height after shaking (30S),Scale reading after defoaming,Defoaming completion time and Surface tension
  2. Add 50g of two-component epoxy white paint to graduated cylinders and test with the following defoamers:
    • TEGO 810
    • TEGO 902
    • BYK 028
    • BYK 024
    • Anjeka 5062A
    • Anjeka 5063
    • Anjeka 26022801 (new)
    • Anjeka 260401 (new)
    Dosage: Defoamer added at 0.1%–0.2%
  3. Drawdown Test for Cratering Evaluation
    Mixing ratio: Paint : Curing agent = 3.5 : 1

In the two-component epoxy white paint defoamer test, 028 and 024 show the best foam suppression performance, while others are consistent; defoaming time is comparable to the base paint. Due to rapid surface drying of the epoxy resin, surface skinning occurred and surface tension could not be measured.

In terms of gloss, 024 and 5062A have greater impact on gloss, while others show higher gloss. Defoaming time of all samples is consistent with the base paint. Regarding cratering, 5061 and 5064 show the least impact.
