ANJEKA-6402 a dispersant for solvent-borne, medium- to low-polarity resin systems

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

ANJEKA-6402 is an acidic-group-modified polyurethane copolymer solution designed as a dispersant for solvent-borne, medium- to low-polarity resin systems in coatings and inks. It is highly effective for dispersing a wide range of inorganic and organic pigments.

STORAGE & HANDLING

• Pre-use: Stir well before use.

• Low-Temperature Handling: Separation or turbidity may occur below 0°C. If observed, warm the material to 30–40°C and stir thoroughly until uniform.

• Shelf Life: 12 months (recommended maximum).

SPECIAL NOTES

This product possesses an acid value which may catalyze cross-linking reactions in baking systems. It is recommended to evaluate the long-term storage stability of the final formulation.

Properties and Advantages
ANJEKA-6402 achieves pigment deflocculation and stabilization through steric hindrance. The resulting fine, stable pigment dispersion eliminates flooding and floating in multi-pigment systems. This leads to significant enhancements in:

• Optical Properties: Gloss, color strength, transparency, and hiding power.

• Rheological Properties: Reduced system viscosity, improved flow, and increased pigment loading capacity.

• Application Performance: When used in electrostatic high-speed rotary bell applications with inorganic pigments, it markedly reduces haze.

Target Applications
This additive is highly recommended for stabilizing inorganic pigments (especially titanium dioxide) in solvent-borne, solvent-free, and acid-catalyzed coating systems (e.g., coil coatings), as well as in printing inks, benefiting from its anionic character.

Recommended Dosage (as supplied, on pigment weight)

• Titanium Dioxide: 2% – 4%

• Inorganic Pigments: 5% – 10%

• Organic Pigments: 10% – 80%

Note: The dosages above are typical starting points. The optimum dosage should be determined through application-specific testing.

Incorporation & Processing
For optimal performance, incorporate the additive into the grinding base before adding the pigments.

• 25 kg in lined iron drums.

• 200 kg in tight-head plastic drums.
