Anjeka 6402 is a solution of polyurethane modified with acidic groups, ideal for the dispersion of inorganic pigments and organic pigments. It is mainly used in solvent-borne (medium/low polarity) resin coating system, and printing ink system.
Solution of polyurethane copolymer modified with acidic groups.
The values indicated in this data sheet describe typical properties and do not constitute specification limits.
| Acid value: | 20-70 mg KOH/g |
| Amine value: | 1-15 mg KOH/g |
| Density: | 0.90 - 1.10 g/ml (20℃) |
| Viscosity: | 5 - 250 cps(25℃) |
| Non-volatile matter (20min, 150 ℃): | 50% |
| Solvent: | 150# solvent oil |
Separation and turbidity may occur during storage or transportation below 0 ℃. Heat to 30-40℃ and mix well before use.
Because of its high acid value, the additive may potentially accelerate the reaction of baking systems. Check the increase in viscosity during storage is necessary.
Anjeka 6402 deflocculates pigments by means of steric stabilization. As a result of the small particle sizes of the deflocculated pigments, the high levels of gloss can be achieved and the color strength is improved. In addition, the transparency of transparent pigments and the hiding power of opaque are also improved. The viscosity of the millbase is reduced. In this way, the flow characteristic is improved and higher pigment loading is possible. For inorganic pigmented coatings, which are processed via electrostatic high rotation technique, haze can be significantly reduced.
Anjeka 6402 is recommended for all solvent-borne and solvent-free coatings and printing inks to stabilize inorganic pigments, especially for titanium dioxide. Its anionic character makes it ideal for acid-catalyzed systems (e.g. coil coatings).
The amount of additive (supplied form) is based on the pigment.
- Titanium dioxide: 2 - 4%
- Inorganic pigment: 5-10%
The above recommended levels can be used for orientation. Optimal levels are determined through a series of laboratory tests.
For the best performance, the additive should be added into the millbase before the pigment added.
