Product Description

ANJEKA-6043 Hyperbranched Polymer Dispersant for Solvent-Based Coatings

Product Overview

ANJEKA-6043 is a polymer dispersant developed for dispersing pigments in solvent-based coatings and printing inks. Built on a hyperbranched polyester structure carrying amino anchoring functional groups, it delivers strong pigment wetting and stabilization across organic pigments, inorganic pigments, and carbon black.

With 100% non-volatile content and no solvent carrier, ANJEKA-6043 provides maximum dispersing power per kilogram — concentrating performance where it matters and avoiding unnecessary dilution of the formulation.

Key Benefits

Brighter Color and Stronger Gloss for Organic Pigments
ANJEKA-6043 amplifies the shine, color vibrancy, and anti-clumping behavior of organic pigments. By keeping pigment particles well-separated and evenly dispersed, it produces cleaner, more vivid color development in the finished film.

Reduced Fogging from Uneven Dispersion
Poorly dispersed particles create surface fogging and haze that dull the coating. ANJEKA-6043 minimizes this effect, ensuring a clearer, more consistent appearance across the surface.

Effective Darkening — Especially High-Surface Carbon Black
Deep, clean blackness is hard to achieve with high-surface-area carbon black, which tends to agglomerate and raise viscosity. ANJEKA-6043 intensifies coating darkness effectively, particularly in high-surface carbon black dispersions, helping formulators reach deeper blacks at workable viscosities.

Shorter Milling Time, Higher Production Efficiency
Faster, more complete wetting shortens the grinding cycle, improving throughput and lowering energy and labor cost per batch.

Improved Storage Stability
Stable dispersion means less settling and re-agglomeration during storage, keeping batch-to-batch consistency high and reducing customer complaints.

Application Areas

Coating Industry
Ideal as a dispersing additive for pigments in solvent-based coatings.

Printing Ink Sector
Recommended for printing inks where stable organic pigment dispersion is required — with particular strength in carbon black systems.

Resin Compatibility
Exhibits compatibility with a wide range of commonly used coating resins, including polyester, polyurethane, and acrylic resin systems.

Recommended Dosage

Dosage is calculated as supplied, based on pigment weight:

Pigment Type Recommended Dosage
Organic pigments 10% to 50%
Titanium dioxide or inorganic fillers 0.5% to 2%
Inorganic pigments 4% to 8%
Carbon black 10% to 30%
High-surface carbon black 40% to 80%

These are empirical starting guidelines. Optimal dosage varies by pigment type, surface area, resin system, and performance targets. A series of tests is recommended to determine the best level for your specific formulation.

How to Add

For optimal performance, add ANJEKA-6043 to the grinding medium first, then introduce the pigment. Adding the dispersant before the pigment ensures the amino anchoring groups are properly positioned to adsorb onto pigment surfaces during high-shear milling, maximizing dispersion efficiency and stability.

Storage and Handling

Stir thoroughly before use.

Below 0 degrees C, separation or oiling-off may occur. This is normal and does not affect product quality. Heat to 30 to 40 degrees C and stir evenly until uniform. Performance is fully restored after proper heating and stirring.

Recommended storage period: do not exceed 12 months from date of manufacture.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What advantage does the hyperbranched structure give over linear dispersants?
The hyperbranched polyester architecture provides multiple anchoring points and a compact steric shell around each pigment particle. This delivers stronger adsorption and more effective anti-flocculation than many linear dispersants, especially at higher pigment loading.

Q: Why is it effective for high-surface carbon black?
High-surface-area carbon black is difficult to wet and tends to agglomerate, which limits achievable blackness and raises viscosity. The amino anchoring groups in ANJEKA-6043 adsorb strongly to the carbon surface, breaking agglomerates and enabling deeper, cleaner blackness — which is why the recommended dosage for high-surface carbon black reaches 40% to 80%.

Q: Is ANJEKA-6043 solvent-free?
Yes. With 100% non-volatile content, ANJEKA-6043 contains no solvent carrier. This concentrates dispersing performance and avoids adding inert diluents to the formulation — useful for solvent-budget-sensitive systems.

Q: Which resin systems is it compatible with?
ANJEKA-6043 is compatible with a wide range of coating resins, including polyester, polyurethane, and acrylic systems, making it suitable across most conventional solvent-based coating and ink formulations.

Q: How does it improve production efficiency?
By wetting and stabilizing pigments faster, the additive shortens the grinding phase and reduces rework from poor dispersion. Lower fogging and better storage stability further reduce batch rejects and customer complaints.

Q: What happens if the product separates during cold storage?
Separation or oiling-off below 0 degrees C is normal. Heat to 30 to 40 degrees C and stir evenly. The product returns to its normal appearance and performance is fully preserved.

Q: Can it be used in printing inks?
Yes. ANJEKA-6043 is recommended for printing ink applications, particularly for stabilizing organic pigments and carbon black where deep color and clean dispersion are required.
