GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Anjeka-4340A is a dispersion of ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer wax (EVA) for solvent-borne coating systems, especially automotive coatings. It improves the orientation of effect pigments and reduces in-can settling.
PRODUCT DATA
Chemical composition: ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer.
Typical Physical Chemistry Data:
The data given on this data sheet are typical values and are not technical specifications of the product.
Appearance: White flowing slurry
Solvent: n-butyl acetate/xylene
Active ingredient (%): 6
STORAGE and TRANSPORT
Keep in a cool and ventilated place, keep the container tightly closed and away from heat and fire. Store at 0 to 40℃. (The product is soft and waxy at 0℃, please return to 25℃ before use). The container should not be exposed to direct heat radiation. Storage time is not recommended to exceed 12 months.
SPECIAL NOTES
In case of drying, crusting or lumping of the wax paste due to poor sealing, remove the dried part to avoid dispersion difficulties. Stir well before use and use the whole pail as much as possible.
Cleaning test method: Disperse the wax paste at 4 m/s for 5 minutes, then add 20% butyl acetate, keep stirring at 4 m/s for 2 minutes, and scrape the film on a glass plate with a 100 um film applicator. The coating should be transparent and particle-free during drying.
Fineness test method: Disperse the wax paste at 4 m/s for 5 minutes, test with a 50 um squeegee fineness meter, fineness ≤ 20 um.
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
Features and benefits:
Anjeka-4340A can improve the directional effect of metallic pigments, such as aluminum powder, pearlescent powder, etc. It can effectively enhance the effect of heterochromatic color with angle of metallic paints, and prevent effect pigments from efflorescence. It also slows down the settling of pigments in the container.
APPLICATION SECTORS
Anjeka-4340A is recommended for solvent-borne metallic flash primers and single-coat automotive metallic topcoats.
RECOMMENDED LEVELS
The amount of additives (in the form of supply) is based on 5-15% of the total formulation or 80-150% added to the amount of aluminum paste.
The above figures are empirical and the optimum dosage should be determined through a series of tests.
INCORPORATION and PROCESSING INSTRUCTIOS
Stir Anjeka-4340A at high speed for 15-30 minutes before use to form a homogeneous flowing liquid, filter and use. In systems containing CAB, the CAB solution should be dispersed with the resin solution at high speed first, and then the stirred wax paste should be added. Pigment paste and solvent should be added under stirring.
