Polymeric Dispersing Agent EFKA4063 Wetting dispersing agents Dispesing carbon black
ANJEKA—6174
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
A wetting and dispersing agent designed for solvent-based automotive coatings, industrial coatings, and concentrated pigment dispersions. Particularly suitable for stabilizing ultrafine carbon black and organic pigments, especially in two-component polyurethane and baking systems. Significantly reduces the viscosity of grinding media.
PRODUCT DATA
Chemical Composition: Modified polyurethane copolymer solution with pigment-affine groups.
The data provided on this sheet represents typical values and not product specifications.
Acid Value (mgKOH/g): | 1-10 |
Amine Value (mgKOH/g): | 2-15 |
Density (g/cm³ at 23℃): | 0.92-1.00 |
Viscosity (cps at 25℃): | 50-200 |
Non-volatile content (%): | 40 |
Solvent: | Xylene/Butyl acetate/Propylene glycol monomethyl ethe r acetate |
STORAGE and TRANSPORT
Storage at temperatures below 0℃ may result in layering or oiling; heat to 20℃ and thoroughly mix. Storage beyond 12 months is not recommended.
SPECIAL NOTES
Surface treatments of certain organic pigments may adversely affect the effectiveness of this wetting and dispersing agent. In such cases, consider using untreated pigments of the same type. When used in coil coatings, consider the interaction between this cationic additive and acid catalysts. Free acids or epoxy-sealed acids are more suitable than amine-sealed acids.
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
Industrial Coatings
ANJEKA—6174 leverages steric hindrance to streamline pigment deflocculation, ensuring steadfast stability. By instilling an identical charge in pigment particles, it induces repulsion and steric hindrance, proactively thwarting any likelihood of flocculation. This proactive approach prevents color drift and undesired blooming in multi-pigment setups, resulting in an augmented gloss, heightened color intensity, improved transparency, and increased coverage of the coating. Simultaneously, it contributes to a reduction in the viscosity associated with the grinding process

RECOMMENDED LEVELS
Additive levels (as purchased) based on pigment:
Titanium Dioxide: | 5%—6% |
Inorganic Pigments: | 10%—15% |
Organic Pigments: | 30%—80% |
Carbon Black: | 70%—140% |
The above data are empirical levels; optimal levels should be determined through a series of experiments.
PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS
For optimal performance, add the additive to the grinding media before introducing pigments. Pre-mix the resin and solvent components of the grinding media, then slowly add the additive under constant stirring. Do not add pigments until the additive is uniformly mixed.
