ANJEKA-6175 wetting and dispersing agent designed for solvent-based automotive coatings, industrial coatings, and concentrated pigment dispersions
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
ANJEKA-6175 is a wetting and dispersing agent designed for solvent-based automotive coatings, industrial coatings, and concentrated pigment dispersions. It is particularly suitable for stabilizing high-pigment carbon black and organic pigments, especially in two-component polyurethane and baking systems. It significantly reduces the viscosity of grinding media.
PRODUCT DATA
Chemical Composition: Polyurethane copolymer solution with pigment-affine groups.
The data provided on this sheet represents typical values and not product specifications.
Amine Value (mgKOH/g): | 1 - 10 |
Acid Value (mgKOH/g): | 1 - 10 |
Density (g/cm³ at 23℃): | 0.99-1.05 |
Non-volatile content (%): | 65 |
Solvent: | Propylene glycol monomethyl ethe r acetate/N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone |
STORAGE and TRANSPORT
Store in a cool and dry place. Layering or oiling may occur at temperatures below 0℃; heat to 20℃ and thoroughly mix. Storage beyond 12 months is not recommended.
SPECIAL NOTES
Surface treatments of certain organic pigments may adversely affect the effectiveness of this wetting and dispersing agent. In such cases, consider using untreated pigments of the same type. When used in coil coatings, consider the interaction between this cationic additive and acid catalysts. Free acids or epoxy-sealed acids are more suitable than amine-sealed acids.
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
For Industrial Coatings
Key Characteristics and Benefits:
ANJEKA-6175 stands out in its ability to regulate pigment flocculation, ensuring consistent stability, and is specifically designed for high-pigment carbon black, altering its undertone towards a cooler, bluish hue. By introducing an identical charge to pigment particles, it initiates repulsion and steric hindrance, successfully averting any potential flocculation. This precise control ensures that multi-pigment systems avoid issues like color floating and blooming. Consequently, it elevates the coating's attributes, enhancing gloss, intensifying color vibrancy, improving transparency, and broadening coverage—all while concurrently diminishing the viscosity encountered during the grinding process.

RECOMMENDED LEVELS
Additive levels (as purchased) based on pigment:
Titanium Dioxide: | 1%—5% |
Inorganic Pigments: | 5%—15% |
Organic Pigments: | 30%—80% |
Carbon Black: | 70%—140% |
The above data are empirical levels; optimal levels should be determined through a series of experiments.
PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS
For optimal performance, add the additive to the grinding media before introducing pigments. Pre-mix the resin and solvent components of the grinding media, then slowly add the additive under constant stirring. Do not add pigments until the additive is uniformly mixed.
