Product Description

ANJEKA-6176 Polymeric Dispersing Agent Acrylic resin system for car coatings organic pigment

ANJEKA-6176 is a wetting and dispersing agent designed for solvent-based automotive coatings, industrial coatings, and concentrated pigment dispersions. It is particularly effective in stabilizing high-pigment carbon black and organic pigments, especially in two-component polyurethane and baking systems, significantly reducing the viscosity of grinding media.

Chemical Composition: Polyurethane copolymer solution with amino anchoring functional groups.

The data provided on this sheet represents typical values and not product specifications.

Non-volatile content (%): 50
Density (g/cm³ at 23℃):

0.97 - 1.01

Acid Value (mgKOH/g): 1-5
Amine Value (mgKOH/g): 7.5 - 15
Solvent: Propylene glycol monomethyl ethe r acetate

ANJEKA-6176 controls pigment flocculation and maintains stability through steric hindrance. It imparts the same charge to pigment particles, creating repulsion and steric hindrance that effectively prevent potential flocculation. This ensures that multi-pigment systems do not exhibit color floating and blooming, resulting in enhanced gloss, color intensity, transparency, and coverage, while also reducing grinding viscosity.

Storage at temperatures below 0℃ may cause layering or turbidity. Heat to 20℃ and mix thoroughly without affecting performance. Storage beyond 12 months is not recommended.

Surface treatments of certain organic pigments may adversely affect the effectiveness of this wetting and dispersing agent. In such cases, consider using untreated pigments of the same type. When used in coil coatings, consider the interaction between this cationic additive and acid catalysts. Free acids or epoxy-sealed acids are more suitable than amine-sealed acids.

Additive levels (as purchased) based on pigment:

Titanium Dioxide:  5%–6%
Inorganic Pigments:  10%–15%
Organic Pigments:  30%–80%
Carbon Black: 70%–140%

(The above data are empirical levels; optimal levels should be determined through a series of experiments.)

For optimal performance, pre-mix grinding resin and solvent components, then add ANJEKA-6176 under stirring. Add pigments after uniform mixing of grinding resin and solvent. Do not add pigments until the additive is uniformly mixed.
