GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Anjeka-5520 is a highly effective silicone-free antifoam additive specifically engineered for use in polyurethane resin-based systems. Its innovative molecular design enables rapid and thorough elimination of both fine micro-bubbles and larger macro-bubbles that occur during production, application, and curing stages. It performs reliably in solvent-containing as well as solvent-free compositions.

STORAGE AND TRANSPORT
Cloudiness or minor phase separation can occur if the product is exposed to temperatures below 5°C. In such cases, heat it to around 20°C and stir well prior to application.
Keep stored in a cool, dry place protected from extreme conditions.
The maximum recommended storage duration is 15 months.

 

SPECIAL NOTES

Due to its relatively strong incompatibility, the influence of this additive on transparency and the potential risk of cratering in clearcoat systems should be carefully evaluated, particularly in non-polar formulations.

Provides excellent defoaming efficiency with rapid removal of entrapped micro-bubbles

Suitable for high-shear processing methods such as high-speed mixing, knife coating, roller coating, and casting

Maintains intercoat adhesion and recoatability while reducing surface defects such as fisheyes and craters

Exhibits good compatibility and stability in solvent-based PU coatings and adhesives, as well as in high-viscosity solvent-free PU systems (e.g., flooring and potting compounds)

Offers long-term storage stability without separation or sedimentation

APPLICATION SECTORS

Industrial Coatings
Solvent-based PU wood coatings, industrial coatings, plastic coatings, metallic coatings, solvent-free PU self-leveling floor coatings, and anticorrosive coatings.
Adhesives and Sealants

1K and 2K PU structural adhesives, reactive hot-melt adhesives (PUR), electronic potting and encapsulation resins (especially in silicone-sensitive systems), and automotive sealants.

Elastomers and Composites

RECOMMENDED LEVELS

Recommended dosage is 0.1–1.0% (as supplied), based on the total formulation.
The optimum addition level should be established through laboratory evaluation.


INCORPORATION AND PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS

For optimal performance, the defoamer should be incorporated before the grinding or dispersion stage.
If post-added, sufficient shear must be applied to ensure uniform dispersion and to prevent surface defects such as cratering.
