ANJEKA-4440 is a liquid modified polyamide waterborne rheological additive featuring prominent shear-thinning thixotropic performance. It builds a reversible three-dimensional network structure inside waterborne coating systems to balance storage stability and construction applicability. Meanwhile, it optimizes the directional alignment of effect pigments such as aluminum paste and pearlescent pigment. Featuring easy feeding operation, it is compatible with most waterborne industrial coating systems, serving as a mainstream rheology control additive for waterborne anti-corrosion coatings, automotive primers and general industrial coatings.

STORAGE AND TRANSPORT

Temperature-sensitive product, store under dry conditions. Slight gelation during storage is a normal physical phenomenon and will not impair the rheological performance of the product; the material can be used normally after thorough stirring and homogenization. The recommended shelf life shall not exceed 24 months.

  • Formulated with liquid modified polyamide, it enables direct feeding without pre-dissolution or pre-grinding, and delivers outstanding compatibility with conventional waterborne resins and additive systems. No extra pH adjustment or temperature control is required during addition.
  • It forms a reversible thixotropic network with fast structural recovery and remarkable shear-thinning property, realizing dual optimization of storage performance and construction performance:
    • At static state, it greatly elevates static viscosity of the system, effectively inhibiting gravity sedimentation of pigments and fillers, eliminating coating delamination and hard sedimentation for long-term storage stability;
    • Viscosity drops rapidly under construction shear force to significantly improve spray atomization. Viscosity rebounds instantly after thick-coat application to effectively prevent sagging and dripping of coating films, allowing thicker single-coat film build while maintaining good leveling performance.
  • It delivers exclusive orientation regulation for aluminum paste, pearlescent pigment and other effect pigments to regularize pigment arrangement, reduce irregular pigment floating and disorder, and upgrade the overall uniform texture of metallic paint and pearlescent paint.
  • It boasts strong process adaptability: it can be added in the paint mixing stage for precise rheology regulation, or post-added to finished paint for viscosity correction to balance storage stability and construction performance, with comprehensive application advantages.
SPECIAL NOTES

Discoloration may occur when used together with driers, which is attributed to metal complex formation. Rheological effectiveness shall be verified in such formula systems.

Under standard dosage, it exerts no adverse impact on yellowing resistance.

Yellowing resistance and performance under elevated additive dosage shall be evaluated for questionable formulations.

RECOMMENDED LEVELS
  • 0.2%–1% (as supplied, based on total formula): For anti-settling and anti-floating purposes
  • 0.5%–2% (as supplied, based on total formula): For anti-sagging purposes

The above dosages are empirical values; the optimal addition amount shall be confirmed via formulation trials.

INCORPORATION & PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS

Add this additive to the coating system under medium shear agitation to ensure homogeneous and rapid dispersion. No dedicated temperature control is required. It can be added during the grinding stage or post-added for viscosity adjustment.

If compatible with the target system, obvious rheological improvement will be observed. Rheological performance evaluation is recommended 2–24 hours after blending, depending on system polarity and standing time.

This additive is recommended for medium-polarity coating systems.
