APPLICATION GUIDELINES
Properties and Benefits
Wetting and dispersing additive that improves pigment wetting and stabilises pigment dispersion by causing controlled flocculation of pigments and bulk pigments, thus preventing colour floatation/blooming and hard settling. Suitable for use in medium to high polarity systems, it is particularly effective in preventing floatation when titanium dioxide is combined with other coloured pigments. It can also be used in amine-neutral and aqueous coatings. It is immiscible with the solvent petrol. When used in antirust primers, it enhances the protective properties in many cases.Anjeka 6104S also contains a small amount of polysiloxane copolymer, which makes it even more effective in preventing colour float. Silicones also help to prevent Bernard swirls and streaks, improve surface slip, levelling and orientation of matting agents or aluminium powders, thus often eliminating the need for additional silicone additives.
APPLICATION SECTORS
Recommended for coating systems: solvent-borne and solvent-free coatings as well as printing inks. Recommended applications: industrial coatings, architectural coatings, anticorrosive coatings, automotive coatings, etc.
RECOMMENDED LEVELS
The amount of additives (in purchased form) is based on the pigment:
Titanium dioxide: 0.5%-2.5%
Inorganic pigments: 3%-10
Organic pigments: 10%-20%.
The above figures are empirical and the optimum dosage should be determined by a series of tests.
PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS
For best performance, add the additives to the milling compound before adding the pigments.
