GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Anjeka-6050 is a wetting and dispersing additive for solvent-borne industrial coatings, wood coatings, and pigment concentrates. It is particularly suitable for stabilizing carbon blacks and organic pigments, especially in two-component polyurethane and baking systems, and significantly reduces the viscosity of mill bases.
PRODUCT DATA
Chemical composition: Copolymer solution with pigment-affinity groups.
Typical Physical Chemistry Data:
The data provided in this datasheet are typical values and are not product specifications.
Appearance: Slightly yellow liquid
Amine value (mg KOH/g): 2–40
Density g/cm³ (23°C): 0.90–1.10
Active ingredient (%): 50
Solvent: Xylene
STORAGE and TRANSPORT
Layering or turbidity may occur at temperatures below 0°C. Heat to 20°C and mix thoroughly before use.
Storage time should not exceed 12 months.
SPECIAL NOTES
The surface treatment of some organic pigments may adversely affect the performance of this wetting and dispersing additive. In such cases, untreated pigments of the same type may be used. When used in coil coatings, the interaction between the cationic additive and the acid catalyst must be considered. Free or epoxy-encapsulated acids are preferable to amine-encapsulated acids.
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
Industrial Coatings
Features and Benefits:
The additive deflocculates and stabilizes pigments through steric hindrance. Anjeka-6050 imparts the same charge to pigment particles. The resulting electrostatic repulsion and steric stabilization prevent co-flocculation and eliminate floating and flooding in multi-pigment systems. This leads to enhanced gloss, color strength, transparency, and hiding power, as well as reduced milling viscosity.

RECOMMENDED DOSAGE
Additive dosage (as supplied) based on pigment weight:
Titanium dioxide: 1%–5%
Inorganic pigments: 5%–15%
Organic pigments: 30%–80%
Carbon black: 70%–140%
The above figures are empirical; the optimum dosage should be determined through a series of tests.
INCORPORATION and PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS
For optimum performance, add the additive to the mill base before introducing pigments. Pre-mix the resin and solvent components of the mill base, then slowly incorporate the additive under constant stirring. Do not add pigments until the additive is thoroughly mixed.
